Frequently Asked Questions

1) I am a Collaborative Discussion Coach and I would like to offer a certificate program. What do I need to do?

If you have completed a Coach Training and you plan to offer a free certificate program (ex: within a classroom or a campus group), then feel free to launch your program. Remember that recognized certificate programs have some basic requirements. If you want to check in to make sure that your design meets these requirements, don't hesitate to reach out. We are happy to provide consultation and support before, during, and after your program.

2) I am a coach. Can you remind me of the requirements of IF Certificates Programs?

All certificate programs must include 8 toolkit activities. It is not enough to introduce the concept of the activity. All programs must implement and practice at least 8 activities from the toolkit. You are encouraged to adapt, modify, or combine activities to fit the needs of your group. Be sure to practice the activity in good faith (don't skip the debriefing questions). At the conclusion of the program, we ask all coaches to share their reflections with us (Assessment 2) and provide our standard retrospective survey to your participants (Assessment 1). Finally, submit the name and email of your successful participants to us so that we can distribute their certificates and badges.

3) I am a coach and I would like to offer a certificate program in collaborative discussion and charge for participation. Can I do this?

This is a possibility that we are exploring, but must be approved in advance. If you are interested in this option, please contact Shannon Hartman (esw@interactivityfoundation.org) to discuss.
